We encourage you to go where you feel most comfortable and can find the dress of your dreams. Our main goal at I&M is to make sure you have up-to-date options to try on at the time of your gown search. We provide you with an atmosphere where you and your body type is understood. At the end of the day, we want you to be comfortable and love the dress you chose. The experience at Ivory & Main is unlike other bridal experiences because we cater to the plus size community exclusively.

Ivory & Main caters mostly to women sizes 12-32. Sample sizes for brides start between 22/24 and go all the way up to a size 34 in some designers. When ordering a gown, we take your measurements and find the best size for you. Shopping with us is an all-inclusive experience, as we can order any size between 2-34. Our stylists are professionally trained to clip gowns perfectly to your body so you can envision how the dress will look/ feel in your size!

Appointments are required at our boutique. We are a narrow sized shop and in order to give all of our brides the attention they deserve during their visit with us we do ask that you make an appointment to ensure that happens for all.

We do ask that you leave the kiddos at home during your visit. We want to be able to have you feel relaxed and have the best experience possible to find your gown. Seeing as we are a small scale boutique there are also times that other patrons will be in the store as well, so we want everyone to have a stress free time picking out their dress

Your search for the perfect gown should begin about 12-14 months prior to your wedding date in order to have access to all designers. Each designer has a different processing time, so shopping within less than one year to your wedding date may restrict your search. However, we can accommodate shopping for your wedding under the one year mark. Be sure to bring this to your stylists attention when booking your appointment.

Undergarments are always a good idea (i.e..Strapless bra, shapers)! Since our stylist is in the room with you assisting with the dresses, be sure to wear undergarments you are comfortable with them seeing.

Most appointments are between 60-90 minutes on average. This time can also vary of course, depending on each bride and their individual decisions.

Unfortunately, because of the type of merchandise housed in our bridal boutique we do not allow most outside drinks or any food in the boutique. If you do happen to come in with either, we will ask you to leave it on the counter in front. We do suggest you eat or snack prior to coming to your appointment, most brides and family members are happier with a full stomach.

Your closest family and/or friends -- the people who are supportive of you and will give their honest and loving advice. We do suggest you keep your party smaller and no more than 3 people at a time. Our try on area comfortably fits 3, however, if your guests are ok with squeezing we can accommodate up to 4 with a regular appointment type. Any more than 4 guests and we require a VIP appointment in order to accommodate your additional guests. Please see the section Boujee Bride for more information on VIP appointments!

Yes! We have a third-party seamstress who takes appointments in our boutique on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Put your mind at ease knowing you will be with an Ivory & Main trusted seamstress in the comfort of our body positive environment. Please call the store to book your alterations appointment with us.

Given the nature of our merchandise there are no returns, refunds or exchanges on any merchandise purchased in the shop.

Our Port Jefferson location has collections of Mother of the Bride/Groom dresses along with Prom, Sweet 16 Gowns and Evening Wear. We do have a smaller selection in our Sayville shop for Mother of the Bride/Groom. Our Port Jefferson location also carries occasion dresses for immediate purchase along with more casual shopping items (hats, bags, robes, casual dresses, accessories, etc.)!

We ask for full payment at the time of purchase. We accept Cash, Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express. At this time we do not accept checks.

Brides and guests must remain in their designated Bridal areas, Your personal stylist will be with you to pull gowns. *Bridal appointments can have up to 3 guests join the bride on the day of appointment and allotted 90 minutes so we can prepare for the next bride. We ask that you please be mindful of the time while we all get adjust to this new way of shopping. *Mothers/Prom/Sweet16 appointments are permitted to have 1 guest and allotted 1 hour appointment times. Again we ask that you be mindful of the time, we know shopping is hectic, but we want to give everyone the opportunity to get in. *Pick up and Alteration appointments are permitted to have 1 guest. *There are no children permitted in the shop. Upon booking an appointment you will receive this guidlines in an email as well.
